CUENTOS HERTZIANOS
Los avances informáticos, comunicacionales y tecnológicos, en el ámbito de lo inalámbrico, están produciendo en los últimos años y de manera gradual, un cambio importante en nuestra sociedad. Dichos progresos suponen, entre otras cosas, el tener acceso a Internet desde cualquier lugar y hora, brindando la capacidad de producción y recepción de contenidos (imágenes, videos, sonidos y textos), datos e información en movimiento.
Toda esa información generada por las personas con sus propios dispositivos móviles, al igual que las señales de telefonía móvil, radio y televisión, viajan a través de ondas radioeléctricas por el espacio hertziano, donde conviven además con las ondas naturales y la contaminación electromagnética. Estas ondas se encuentran a nuestro alrededor, por todas partes, atravesando paredes, personas y objetos, invisibles e imperceptibles, a la espera de que sean reveladas y traducidas por los usuarios mediante los dispositivos.
Como consecuencia de esta revolución tecnocientífica, está apareciendo, una nueva realidad informacional a nuestro alrededor, que modifica el espacio de interacción, las relaciones sociales y la forma de comportarnos en las nuevas ciudades. Apareciendo de manera natural nuevos modelos de producción y nuevas estructuras económicas y de poder. Una realidad de la que sabemos muy poco acerca de su funcionamiento, dimensiones, características y peligros, pero que ya hemos asumido como nuestra.
Bajo el lema Cuentos Hertzianos, conceptualizamos un proyecto que reflexiona, y se adentra en este nuevo espacio informacional. Con obras que lo hacen perceptible y lo revelan a través de la visualización y sonificación, evidenciando y mostrando los nodos, redes, puntos de acceso, las intensidades de las señales, sus contornos, límites y fuerzas Todo ello, bajo el influjo de la ciencia, la tecnología y el arte.
HERTZIAN TALES
The advances in computing, information technology and communications, in the field of wireless, are producing in recent years and gradually, a major change in our society. This progress involves, among other things, access to the Internet from any place and time, providing the ability to produce and receive content (pictures, movies, sounds and texts), data and information in motion.
All that information generated by people with their own mobile devices, like the signals of mobile telephony, radio and television, travel through radio waves through the hertzian space, where they also coexist with natural waves and electromagnetic pollution. These waves are around us, everywhere, crossing walls, people and objects, invisible and imperceptible, waiting for them to be revealed and translated by users through the devices.
As a consequence of this techno-scientific revolution, a new informational reality is appearing around us which modifies the space of interaction, social relations and the way of behaving in the new cities. Naturally, new production models and new economic and power structures appear. A reality that we know very few about its mechanisms, dimensions, characteristics and dangers, but that we have already assumed as our own.
Under the motto Hertzian Tales, we conceptualize a project that reflects and enters into this new informational space. With works that make it perceptible and reveal it through visualization and sonification, evidencing and showing the nodes, networks, access points, the intensities of the signals, their contours, limits and forces. All this, under the influence of science, technology and art.
